inMy interest in real estate began in 2003 when I completed a real estate appraisal license course. After side hustling, as an assistant for top producing agents and investors, I decided to get my sales license (spring 2004).  By September 2004, I had my first listing which was 868 Rock Street.  It closed November 2004.

In total, I closed approximately $6M transactions between 2004-2007.  My real estate sales journey is an illustration of hustle and doing it, scared, while you learn it.  Speaking of hustle and learning, while waiting for deals to close, during my first year, I took a part-time job as a commercial property collateral inspector.  I was determined to optimize my time by pursuing work related to all things real estate valuation.

The value takeaway from my sales experience is I learned I am more interested in real estate valuation and more fit to be an investor than a salesman.  And since that realization, I’ve been preparing myself to reenter the market, discreetly, as a competent investor in not only real estate but other assets.
